Possibilities of expanded physical rehabilitation for patients after transcutaneous coronary interventions with rhythm disorders

Background. Considering different ectopic activity in patients with IHD, who have undergone transcutaneous coronary interventions (TCI), safety and efficacy issues of rehabilitation actions are important. Aim. Studying a possibility of controlled exercise training (CET) for IHD patients with ventricular rhythm disorders (VRD) after TCI. Materials and methods. The longitudinal prospective study enrolled 32 patients (males, mean age 54±9 years) with IHD after TCI, who had II, III, IVA and IVB class VRD according to the M. Ryan classification (1975) on the background of sinus rhythm, as shown by the Holter ECG monitoring. Group1 patients (n=10) performed moderate intensity CET and received ω-3 PUFA (Omacor 1000 mg / day) in addition to their basis therapy for 1 month. Group 2 patients (n=11) received ω-3 PUFA 1000 mg / day in addition to their basis therapy for 1 month. Group 3 patients (n=11) received a standard, controlled drug therapy and served as a control group. Results. Combined physical rehabilitation including moderate intensity CET and the ω-3 PUFA treatment for one month almost 1.5 times increased the functional activity of patients with IHD after TCI and reduced the ectopic activity by 39.1 %. Conclusion. Therapy supplementation with ω-3 PUFA in the period of rehabilitation expands possibilities of using exercise in patients with IHD after TCI.
