Early combined therapy has been recently administered more and more often to treat hypertension. Without disputing its necessity and reasonability, it is still necessary to define exactly a circle of patients who need monotherapy, because redundant treatment is as dangerous as inefficient therapy. Monotherapy seems to be overgrown with some firm myths that make for a negative attitude to of the medical community.
