Treatment of the constant form of atrial fibrillation

Tatarsky B.A.

DOI:

In the constant form of atrial fibrillation (AF), the primary goal is the adequate control of heart rate and anticoagulant or antiaggregant therapy. Review considers approaches to the control of heart rate in the AF constant form, including drug (digoxin, β-blockers, calcium channel blockers) and non-drug (AV node ablation and implantation of continuous pacemaker) methods. By present an incontestable evidence-based database has been collected supporting the necessity for administration of anticoagulant therapy with adequate control of risk for hemorrhage to prevent thromboembolism in the constant form of AF.
