At present time, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is indicated to patients with high CHF FC, pronounced systolic dysfunction, and widened QRS complex who do not adequately respond to the optimum drug therapy. Several clinical studies have demonstrated the efficacy of CRT. However, patients generally have a concomitant, often aggravating condition, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which may change during CRT. The article describes a case of successful CRT in comorbidity of CHF and COPD. CRT was shown not only to improve CHF and increase the patient’s exercise tolerance but also to beneficially influence such concomitant disease as COPD.
