Diuretics allow to reduce the volume of circulating blood, that is to reduce BP, pulmonary artery pressure, and portal vein pressure, and reduce edemas. These drugs influence water and electrolyte exchange a human body, i.e. their action is directed at the basic elements of AH pathogenesis and congestive heart failure. The review covers effects of known diuretic drugs and new generics.
