Traditional notion that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in consequence of short-term risk of death is attributable mainly to young people has been reconsidered. Some researches revealed that considerable contingent of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients are elderly people with a long-term nonmalignant disease state. One of the most important problems, from the practical point of view, is differential diagnostics of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with ischemic heart disease as well as myocardium of left ventricle due to atrial fibrillation. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy prognostication for elderly patients is defined by the development of congestive cardiac failure with a due number of peculiarities.
