Chronic heart failure and depressive disorders

Vasyuk Y. A., Dovjenko T. V.

Keywords: depression, clinical symptoms, treatment, prognosis, CHF

DOI:

Depressive disorders accompanies chronic heart failure (CHF) in more than 50% of cases. The presence of depression burdens CHF prognosis, combines with high morbidity and mortality, increases duration and costs of tratment. Use of modern antidepressants in patients with CHF and comorbididal depressive disorders along with improvement of mental condition significantly increases complex therapy efficacy, beneficially influence on 24 hours’ blood preassure profile, indices of intracardiac hemodynamics and of structure and geometry of left ventricle.
