Urgency. Presence of multiple RF, high prevalence of CVD in the RF and inadequate efficacy of therapy in patients with AH suggest a high prevalence of CHF in the population. Aim. Revealing the prevalence of CHF by gender and age in the RF European part. Materials and methods. A clinical epidemiological study was conducted with creation of a representative sample. The study was conducted in 8 subjects of the RF European part. 8534 families were evaluated at 339 therapeutic sites. Overall 19,500 respondents aged from 10 to 100 years were enrolled in the study. Results. Prevalence of CHF in the RF European part was 8.9%; prevalence of III-IV FC CHF was 1.3%. The majority of patients in the RF European part aged from 60 to 79 years. Prevalence of CHF was significantly higher among women than among men (10.8 and 6.4%, respectively). If life-span of men and women was equal in the RF population, the prevalence of CHF would appear higher among men than among women. Severity of CHF is a stronger predictor of poor prognosis for men than for women.
