Increased fatigability should be considered an important symptom of CHF. Lecture covers major causes and clinical significance of increased fatigability in patients with CHF. Author discusses causes for changes in skeletal muscles and the role of these changes in development of fatigue in patients with CHF; significance of excessive ergoreflex activity; effects of depression and anemia; and the relationship between the increased fatigability and the β–blocker treatment.
