Urgency. Comparison of epidemiological data on the continuously increasing proportion of elderly and senile people in the structure of population in all developed countries including the Russian Federation to the expanding prevalence of CHF warrants urgency of studying CHF prevalence in groups of advanced age with special focus on long-livers. Aim. Studying all-etiology CHF prevalence among long-livers as exemplifiedby the Saratov city. Materials and methods. A continuous study including surveillance with a specially designed questionnaire and physical and instrumental examinations (chest X-ray, ECG, echoCG) was performed on persons at documented age of 90 and more years in the Saratov city. Results and conclusion. Analysis of obtained data using the method of overlapping sets was used for calculation of CHF prevalence in the Saratov subpopulation of long-livers. TheCHFprevalencewas11.8%,whichwasconsiderablybelowthepredictedCHFprevalenceinpersonsolderthan 90 years. Study of historical, objective and instrumental data allowed a statement of HF distinctive features in long-livers.
