Incidence of DM2 in patients with CHF

Urgency. Multiple epidemiological studies of recent years have demonstrated a need for developing a tactics for the management of patients with combined CHF and DM. Aim. Evaluating the incidence of CHF and DM2 combination and severity of the disease. Materials and methohds. A retrospective analysis was performed on 2431 case reports of patients with CHF as one of diagnoses, who had been admitted to therapeutic cardiological departments of a multi-discipline hospital over 12 months. Results. The data obtained indicated that DM2 complicated the course of CHF in 33% of patients. It was shown that 92% of patients with the combination of CHF and DM2 were repeatedly hospitalized; rate of fatal outcomes was 48% for 12 months.
