Diagnostic capabilities of stress-echoCG with the use of tissue dopplerography

Stress echocardiography (stress-echoCG) with physical and pharmalcological loads has been long and successfully used for diagnostics of ischemic heart disease (IHD) and evaluation of myocardial functional state in order to detect viable myocardium in areas of postinfarction cardiosclerosis. The conventional method of stress-echoCG has an important shortcoming: the method for evaluation of local myocardial contractility is qualitative (visual). In this connection, additional use of tissue dopplerography (TD), a method which allows quantitative evaluation of test results, is a promising trend in development of stress-echoCG. Article considers capabilities of stress-echoCG with the use of TD in diagnostics of IHD and for detection of viable myocardium.
